HANDS OFF OUR SISTER!!!

Above: Her Excellency the ambassador of Tanzania to USA is seen casting her vote  in the DMV elections which took place on 9th August, 2014. The ambassador is criticized for not staying away from the elections as a neutral person that she is supposed to be.
The flamboyant Asha Nyang'anyi - accused of  instilling fear and terror in the hearts of Tanzanians living in DMV.

Some blogs posted on August 22nd, 2014 a letter from an anonymous writer under the heading: The influence of a single individual in the DMV Tanzanian community,

http://swahilivilla.blogspot.ca/2014/08/the-influence-of-single-individual-in.html

to which I reply:

To a die-hard supporter, it’s painful to lose an election. It is more painful to others when someone scapegoats such a loss to an innocent person.

Many of us are impressed by the many activities that our sister Asha Nyang’anyi is involved with in our DMV Community. We envy her a lot and many a time we wish to be like her.

Only a less intelligent person would demonize and associate her with the characteristics similar to those of the disgraced dictator Iddi Amin Daddah of Uganda, by suggesting that her involvement has brought about so much fear, terror, anguish and chaos among our people in DMV. This is utter nonsense!  Let’s accept defeat and STOP spreading nonsense around. Let’s not forget that old adage which says that……”he who accepts defeat with humility is a great winner”.

Asha is shamelessly attacked for dividing the women of DMV by selecting only a few to Mrs Kikwete’s lunch. Anyone who thought that lunch was an open event for all women of DMV needs to think again.
Only a certain number of women were to be invited and meet Mrs Kikwete and NOT all and therefore it goes without saying that some must have been left out. If this has divided the women of DMV, then such a division was not created by Asha, but by higher authorities, either from our embassy in Washington DC or from DSM.

Regarding the Swahili Classes, the writer says that he/she cannot say for certain if Asha’s involvement had anything to do with it, but would not hesitate to guess it may have been. The question here is: if the writer is not certain and that he/she is only guessing, why then accusing someone of something that he/she is not sure of? Guesswork is a very dangerous thing to any Community. Nations are known to have destroyed each other because of guesswork.

Referring to DICOTA, again the writer fumbles by saying that he cannot say as of yet if her involvement will result in positive or negative outcomes, but the writer does not hesitate to guess for negative outcomes. Since the writer cannot say anything believable of yet, then I cannot go for his/her guesses, as this will be equal to going around spreading unfounded rumors about someone without concrete evidence.

Regarding TAMCO, I have no comments to make, because it seems the writer is not only anti-Asha but also anti-Islam. I am surprised as to why the writer did not go further to accuse the group of being a bunch of terrorists and Asha of being Osama Bin Laden reincarnated in a woman’s dress without a turban?

The truth is, if there was a woman to be blamed in this whole DMV election saga, then that woman would not be Asha, but Her Excellency (HE) Ambassador Mulamula. I don’t know for which camp did Ambassador Mulamula vote, but this does not matter at all. HE Ambassador Mulamula is a mama to all Tanzanians in DMV and it is loathsome for a mama to vote for one son against another under the pretext of exercising her democratic rights. Her Excellency should have stayed out of this dirty game as a neutral person. The case is now heading not to our embassy in Washington DC, but to the court, because HE cannot call her two sons to a round table discussion, for her hands are already stained with the blood of one.

ATC is here to promote Unity among Tanzanians in DMV. But, our inability to solve our problems outside the court of law defeats the very motto of the Association that we so much crave to lead.
