- When the station workers refused to get her mobile phone, she jumped on the tracks herself.
The incident happened when one woman dropped her mobile phone onto the track and jumped to retrieve it. Her action brought the metropolitan line in east London to a halt for a couple of hours. According to a report in Metro, the woman argued with the station workers to get her mobile phone and when they refused, she jumped to get it herself.
The Aldgate East station has to be closed during the busy rush hours to bring the situation under control.
Travellers took to Twitter to express their disbelief about the incident.

I went past Aldgate East and the police were still with her. I think she dropped her phone from the bridge bit over the platforms and they were refusing to get it for her. So she was stupid and went to get it herself...- Christine Jagger (@RandomPanda1989) January 18, 2018
You know when city mapper's not working on your phone at Aldgate East and you're not sure if your train's coming so you just jump on the tracks to check pic.twitter.com/6HsM1YRS4K- kikileefaye (@kikileefaye) January 18, 2018
