Land Ministry all out to evict land intruders, invaders.

The Ministry for Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development has announced a non-stop operation to evict land intruders in various localities in Dar es Salaam.
 
The decision follows a series of report linking prominent people, leaders and financially powerful individuals who have been invading open places and put up structures contrary to the country's regulations.
 
Making the announcement in Dar es Salaam over the weekend, the Ministry's Permanent Secretary Alphayo Kidata said the targeted people include those who illegally grabbed land for political and economic reasons as well as those who put up structures along protected areas and open spaces.Kidata told reporters that the operation that targets Kinondoni, Ilala and Temeke municipals is an ongoing project engineered to evict all intruders at any cost.
 
"There is no stone that will remain unturned. For leaders their duty is to enforce laws and not to break them … we will take them down," he said at a press conference.
 
According to the official already the ministry had started the operation in Kinondoni municipal where some several structures where bulldozed yesterday.
 
He pointed out that there is no any person allowed to invade the protected areas including the river banks and coast line at a distance of 30 and 60 metres respectively.
 
The permanent secretary did not give a free waiver to individuals who had invaded the long-time allocated portion for developmental projects including construction of infrastructures.
 
"There are several developmental projects which are currently waiting for the court of law to make a ruling … the very individuals are illegal occupants of the land. We will also deal with such people using are lawyers at the court of law," he conceded.
 
Detailing over the earlier operations in Kinondoni municipal, the municipal engineer Baraka Mkuya said the operation has been conducted along Mikocheni B and Tegeta area.
 
He said people who were evicted had invaded plot no 507/2/1 and plot no; 507/2/2 both in Mikocheni B. others evicted had set-up structures at Plot no; 67 Block C and plot no; 1330 Block G both in Tegeta.
