SOME members of the Zanzibar House of Representatives have appealed to the government to make sure that the First Vice-President has a permanent house in Zanzibar, Pemba and Dar es Salaam to minimise expenses.
“We are unhappy to see that the First Vice-President has no permanent House in Zanzibar where the government is spending big money to rent and pay for a Hotel in Dar es Salaam…,” Mr Hamza HassanJuma (CCMKwamtipura said when debating the budget estimates for the First VP office.
Mr Juma is the chairperson of the House committee to follow-up ‘top leaders’ offices’ performance. He said the government should plan to have permanent residential houses for the First Vice president in areas frequently by the leaders.
The Second Vice President has rest houses in all the three areas; Zanzibar, Pemba, and Dar es Salaam, and according to the Minister of State (second vice president’s office) Mr Mohamed Aboud Mohamed, the houses for his boss are under renovation.
