The first group is made up of those who believe that Special Status is the right thing to be adopted by our country - not minding losing their birthright. They believe that, this way our country will be safe and able to shun away beyond our borders those few misguided nuts who are with ulterior motivations - alias, those bourgeoisie who have orchestrated economic wars in other parts of the world that have caused death, malnutrition, starvation, devastation, ruin and mayhem to the common people.
In the second group, there are those who believe that birthright is sacred and it is inalienable. They believe that citizenship by birth is a God-given gift and no man or woman has the right to take away this natural gift. It can never be taken away by simply taking up the citizenship of another country, unless you intentionally renounce it yourself through a due process. They also believe that the 1995 Citizenship Act is a prime requisite for a Stateless person. The Act, they say, not only strips a Tanzanian born of his/her citizenship but also deprives Tanzanian children born abroad of their citizenship when they turn adults.
The rest of us are left baffled and dumbfounded!
