Biggest pay hike for over 1 million people in a decade!

Around one million public sector workers will get their biggest pay rise in a decade, the UK government announced on Tuesday.

Armed forces personnel will get a 2.9 per cent pay increase, while teaches will see salaries go up by 3.5 per cent.

Prison officers will also receive a 2.75 per cent boost in their paycheques.The move is a total overhaul of David Cameron's public sector pay cap of 1 per cent, introduced in 2012, that came two years after his government introduced a pay freeze across the board.

It was reported on Monday night that British Prime Minister Theresa May is set to scrap the public sector pay cap with teachers, soldiers, doctors, police and prison officers in line for wage increases of as much as 3.5 per cent.
