 USA: Girl crushed to death as man backs SUV out of parking!

A 2-year-old girl died a tragic death after she was run over by an SUV in her family's driveway in front of her brother in Cherokee County, Georgia. Lilly Franklin and her 4-year-old brother were in the care of their uncle at their home while their parents were away.

The incident occurred at around 7pm when Lilly was playing on the front porch of their house located in the town of Keithsburg when her uncle's employer pulled into the driveway in his SUV to drop off his paycheck. The two men had a brief conversation, during which the uncle's boss never exited the vehicle or parked it, Daily Mail said quoting Cherokee Tribune.
Soon the man backed out of the driveway and didn't notice the girl was under the SUV and drove over her. She suffered serious injuries and was bleeding when deputies who were summoned arrived at the scene. The child was said to be bleeding profusely but still breathing and was rushed to WellStar Kennestone Hospital before being airlifted to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta where she succumbed to her injuries.

However, as there was nothing to suggest that the driver of the SUV was in anyway impaired, he is not expected to face any charges, a sheriff's spokesperson said. Grief-stricken family and friends have been leaving messages of condolences on the Facebook page of Lilly's father, Joshua Franklin. One mourner wrote: 'Sweet girl if you knew how many people love you and have prayed for you. We all love you so much Lilly! The heart ache will slowly get better but your memory will be with us forever'. According to one post, the little girl was an organ donor who helped save the lives of two young boys after her death.
