DUBAI — Two judges of the Cassation Court, six judges of the Appeals Court and 15 judges of the Primary Courts in Dubai were sworn in on Tuesday at Zabeel Palace before His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Another four counsellors took the oath of office as chief public prosecutors in Dubai before Shaikh Mohammed.
Shaikh Mohammed urged the judges and prosecutors to administer justice with integrity and loyalty, to respect laws in Dubai and to value people, whether plaintiffs or defendants, considering human dignity and their rights as “red lines” that should not be crossed or compromised because “our religion, Arab and human values don’t tolerate that.” Shaikh Mohammed stressed that laws should be respected and implemented for all and that no one is above the law, regardless of his position and status.
Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Shaikh Hasher bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, Director of Dubai Information Department, Lt, General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Essam Al Humaidan, Dubai Attorney General, Dr. Ahmed Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Dubai Courts Department and a number of senior officials attended the oath-taking ceremony.
