His Majesty’s greetings conveyed to Cyprus president — NICOSIA — President Dimitris Christofias of the Republic of Cyprus yesterday received Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, who is currently on an official visit to Cyprus. During the meeting, Alawi conveyed to President Christofias the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos along with his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the friendly people of Cyprus. On his part, the Cypriot president sent his greetings to His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people.
Bilateral relations between the two friendly nations and ways of strengthening them in various aspects were discussed during the meeting as well as reviewing regional and international affairs. Meanwhile, the Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs held official talks with Cypriot Foreign Minister EratoKozakou-Marcoullis during which they discussed means of fostering relations in different fields, encouraging exchange of visits among Omani and Cypriot officials, business people and citizens. Alawi signed a memorandum of understanding with his Cypriot counterpart relating to political discussions.
