His Highness Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, has issued an Emiri Decree regulating the hotel and tourism sector in the emirate.
Decree No. 02 of 2013, issued on a recommendation by Ajman Tourism Development Department, responds to the growing movement of tourists into the emirate.
The decree grants the Department the full authority to regulate and develop the local tourism sector and its services. Under the decree, no one is allowed to practice any business related to the hotel or tourism sector without obtaining a prior permit from the Department.
The decree also tasked the Department with the job of assessing and classifying hotel and tourism businesses according to the recognised classification standards, and of establishing a register for all hotel and tourism establishments.
