Fifteen-year-old Indian girl sweats, cries blood

From Delhi, India, 15-year-old Preeti Gupta has had to suffer being labelled terms like mad and possessed due to a grave condition that resulted after she fell sick.
While her parents kept looking for solutions and treatments, most medics wrote it off as a mental illness and refused to cure the girl. It was only Dr Shashidhar, Paediatric ENT Consultant, Artemis Hospital, Delhi who took up the case and has decided to find a cure.
It all started five years ago when Preeti was seriously ill in 2009.
Soon after which she began to bleed through her eyes and skin. Assuming it as an infection, her parents rushed her to a hospital reports the Daily Mail.
For the next 12 months there was no occurrence of the symptoms. But in 2010 it got worse, with blood oozing out from her fingernails, hands, legs, ears, scalp and eyes.
In and out of school, Preeti says she knows when her eyes will start bleeding because they hurt a lot. But once the blood flows out, the pain vanishes and they relax, it's almost like a build-up of pressure and then she’s fine again.
He father Manoj Gupta says the bleeding can last one or two hours, or days. The blood is not thick, but more like a thin fluid.
Dr Shashidhar who has accepted to treat the teenager says this mysterious disorder is called Haemolacria. It is a condition where an individual has spontaneous episodes of bleeding from anywhere in the body. After the bleeding there are absolutely no bruises, cuts, nor marks. It may involve certain systems like sweat glands or the capillary systems.
According to the Daily Mail, it is a phenomenon that has only been experienced by a few people around the world, which in turn has left Preeti depressed.

With very little information on this mysterious condition Dr Shashidhar is determined to get to the bottom of this case, which is one of the biggest challenges he has faced as a doctor.
