His Majesty’s speech to the people of Oman crosses 1m views on YouTube

Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said's address to the nation from Germany on November 4 has been viewed by more than 1 million people on YouTube in 10 days.

The video uploaded by Oman TV on November 4 has been viewed by 1,010,006 people by Thursday.

In video aired live by Oman TV, His Majesty wished the citizens of the Sultanate on the occasion of the 44th National Day.

"The national day has come at the time when I am outside my beloved country for reasons you know about. The results have been positive. I have to follow up a medical programme during the upcoming period," His Majesty said in the speech.

His Majesty expressed happiness and thanked the people of Oman for their wishes and prayers. His Majesty also prayed for the people of Oman.

Soon after the four-minute address was aired on national television, both nationals and expatriates in Muscat rejoiced the speech with high esteem and delight.

The celebrations lasted till late in the night in all over Muscat and still many schools and groups are holding loyalty marches in Oman.

On the day of His Majesty's speech, people from all walks of life, including women and children, without any age difference were seen on the roads in traditional dresses singing and dancing while waving flags and holding HM's posters.

While students at different schools and colleges held mass prayers and rallies in the day time, hundreds of Omanis and expatriates gathered in front of Muscat Al Alam Palace on that evening singing patriotic songs and waving flags.
