Effective from March 1, the minimum wages for Filipino household service workers have been raised from RO160 or $400, said a circular from the Philippines Overseas Labour Office. The embassy in Oman has been asked to a certification among others stating minimum salary of RO160. No employment contract should be proceeded without the certifications.
Several Filipinas working housemaids have welcomed the decision and said it was a long pending demand. The new hike will help us to raise the living standards of ours as well as our families back home.
