Mozambique President starts three-day visit

Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi disembarks from his plane at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi arrived in the country yesterday for a three-day state visit at the invitation of his Tanzanian counterpart, Dr Jakaya Kikwete.
 
Kikwete welcomed him at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) where he inspected a guard of honour and 21 gun salutes.
Afterwards, Nyusi held a private meeting with President Kikwete. The two leaders also discussed the bilateral relations between Mozambique and Tanzania.
 
Nyusi also met with all High Commissioners from African countries that are in the country for dinner which had been organised by Kikwete.
President Nyusi who has a delegate consisting of leading government officials is expected to address a business forum that brings together businessmen from the two countries.
 
The forum is taking place at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dar es Salaam.
The visiting leader is also expected to visit Tanzania-Mozambique Centre for Foreign Relations College at Kurasini area in Temeke District in the City. The college is a joint venture between the two countries and was established in 1978.Nyusi is also meeting with his citizens living in Tanzania before heading to Zanzibar where he will meet with the Isles President Dr Ali Mohammed Shein and later meet with Mozambique citizens living in Zanzibar.

Nyusi will leave Zanzíbar for Dodoma tomorrow where he is expected to visit the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and speak to the party’s chairman, President Jakaya Kikwete.
 
The visiting President is also expected to address the Parliament the same day and later visit the University of Dodoma.
Nyusi is expected to conclude his official visit tomorrow and will return to his country through JNIA.
