He said the embassy is committed to promote contemporary awareness and active involvement in developmental issues between Tanzania and China through these initiative efforts.

On her part, the Director for Higher Education in the Ministry of Education, Professor Silvia Temu, highly commended the Chinese embassy for making concerted efforts in support of the nation as she highlighted some of the achievements realised so far.

The director told the gathering that the ministry on its part has made concerted efforts in upgrading its work force through capacity building.

“With due respect our government is very moved by such kind of support in the growth of our nation through education,” she said, adding that in 2013/14 there were 38 scholarships, 2014/15 (85) and 2015/16 there were 68 number of scholarships as well.

“Upon completion of your studies you are expected to become more knowledgeable on issues you are bound start pursuing and you are therefore expected to deliver for national development,” she underlined, amid applause that punctuated her speech.

“Consider yourselves as men who have done what they consider to be their duties to their people and their country. You are strongly advised to be our good ambassadors while in China,” she added.
