Dr Shein pledges to create more jobs for SMEs

Zanzibar Presidential candidate on the ticket of CCM Dr Ali Mohammed Shein
Zanzibar Presidential candidate on the ticket of CCM Dr Ali Mohammed Shein has pledged to create more jobs for youth in the Isles through the establishment of small and medium industries.

He stressed that his government will make sure that no youth is left idle without work to do and for which they will earn an income.

The incumbent president, who is also seeking for a second office term pointed out that there are already 700 ha that have been set aside for the establishment of the said enterprises.

“Our manifesto directs us to create more jobs especially for youth. We have come up with workable strategies that will make us reduce unemployment among the youth by setting aside such land to pave the way for the establishment of SMEs,” he stressed.

Dr Shein made the pledge at Dimani grounds in Unguja on Monday when addressing supporters during an election campaign rally. He said the efforts made by his government will be a big step in the reduction of joblessness among youth in the Isles.

He said the government wants to carry massive investments that would see its people benefit by uplifting their lives and contribute to the national development.

Dr Shein added: “We want to have a nation that no youth is left behind in the area of employment.”

He stated that the government has also set aside another 60 ha of land where a modern business centre will be built.

“Feasibility studies have already been conducted and the centre will meet all the international standards to allow foreign and local businesses to invest in, In so doing jobs will be created,'' he assured.

He urged them to vote for CCM promising that more than what has been done is coming and it will continue to accomplish all the promises it has made.

Seconding Dr Shein, CCM secretary for organisation, Dr Mohammed Seif Khatib said it is not easy for any political party to go to State House if it does not have good policies that are implementable.

He said CCM is the only political party in the Isles which has good and implementable policies for the country.

“We have all what it takes for CCM to win in this race and we are very confident 0ctober 25 is a big day for the party and a new era for the people,” he said.

For his part, First Vice President and CCM National Executive Committee member, Ambassador Seif Ali Idd reminded the Civic United Front (CUF) of stopping to claim that CCM has done nothing.

“We have no time to start spewing words to each other but CUF should wait for the big day (October 25), and it will prove it failure as we will win the polls. People still have faith in CCM because they have lived in it through their lives,” he said.
