EXIM Bank has pledged to give equal employment opportunity to deserving Tanzanians in its recruitment policy as long as they meet the bank’s qualification criteria.
The Bank’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Dinesh Arora, made the announcement on the sidelines of the Career Africa Recruitment Summit 2015, in New York, recently.
Mr Arora said the bank felt the need to participate in the summit to scout and recruit Tanzanian professionals from across the US to join the bank’s workforce. “We are diligent in our efforts to provide equal opportunity to qualified individuals regardless of where they are presently settled,” said Mr Arora.
He added: “It is important that we continue with our efforts toward maintaining a diversified workforce, because each of us will benefit in countless ways from the opportunities to work among peers who have been exposed to financial sector practices of various countries and possess experiences that differ from our own.”
The Career Africa Recruitment Summit is an annual event which helps high-calibre internationally based Africans find jobs in Africa. Also in attendance was the bank’s Human Resource Manager, Mr Frederick Kanga.Mr Kanga said another reason for Exim Bank to attend the summit was to be able to convince Tanzanians in the diaspora to return home and participate in the development of their country. According to Mr Kanga, the bank has to date recruited 25 individuals from the diaspora, mainly from the UK and the USA.
