4 months ago, we opened our show site with two finished state-of-the-art-homes and a provisional site office. Hundreds of interested guests have paid us a visit since, and we enjoyed many inspiring conversations. Naila became an institution on site - always greeting everyone with her dazzling smile and her welcoming words.
The gardens around the two homes have turned into a small green oasis, created by Franko and his team from the Earth Care Centre. The show site quite rapidly developed into a point of interest for many people in Zanzibar and Tanzania and many of our visitors brought their families and friends after they heard of our ambitious vision. A lot of these people are now part of our wholesome community and reserved their new home in Fumba Town. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone, who trusts in our team and our ambitious dream – without you, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Together, we have made it to the construction kick-off and the ball is now officially rolling!
The survey team has started measuring the entire Phase 1 to define the respective plots for the start of the construction. On the 20th of December 2015, the heavy machinery arrives on site to begin the excavation works. The construction team from Mchanganyiko is currently fencing Phase 1 and our first gate into the residential area is nearly finished. Due to the activity, we are obliged to close the show site for unscheduled visits. Please make an appointment with one of our sales agents for a guided site visit or pass by our office in Mazizini on Nyerere road. We welcome you from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. Please always feel free to contact us for a meeting outside the office hours - we happily accommodate your wishes.
Our partners from Livable Home have arrived back on the island after three months of detailed construction planning. The production site is currently being prepared while the factory for your state-of-the-art prefab home is shipped to Zanzibar.
Franko and his team from the Earth Care Centre have been very busy in the past few months. They have been growing – in the true sense of the word. The Practical Permaculture Institute Zanzibar is already delivering fresh produce from a project that has only started about three months ago. The permaculture concept for Fumba Town is summarized and now turned into practical processes. Fumba Town is the first urban development worldwide, which is right from the beginning based on permaculture principles. We aspire to make many follow our lead with our sustainable and conscious approach to human settlements.
Dominique and her marketing team, together with Tentickle Tanzania, is finalizing the plans for the ‘Show Room’ – our head quarters on site, which will be the future base for workshops, events and activities around Fumba Town. The opening of the Show Room is planned for the End of March 2016 – watch out for our event calendar, which will be released with our next newsletter in January. Moreover, a new, interactive website is underway, which will always give you the most actual state of affairs as well as a lot of information about the projects in and around Fumba Town.
Katrin and her team from accounts and contracting are busy issuing title deeds and slowly, but surely our first neighborhoods in Fumba Town’s Phase 1 are coming together. We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that our office will be closed for the festive season from the 19th December 2015 until the 3rd of January 2016. For those who have pending fees for the last quarter, we would appreciate if they could be settled before the end of the year.

Last but not least, we would like to officially introduce two new staff members: Said Ally Said, one of our first clients, has joined our team as Head of Sales & IT and Daines Joyce Zimba has joined our head office as Management Assistant to support administration and accounts. We are looking back on an incredibly exciting year 2015. A year, where a very ambitious and challenging vision was transformed to a tangible project and is now at the verge of becoming the new epitome for modern living in Zanzibar. Now, we find ourselves looking back with a satisfied smile on our faces and looking forward to an even more exhilarating year to come! Our new year’s resolutions: LIVE up to our expectations, GROW our visions and ideas and EVOLVE to a better lifestyle.
