
TANZANIANS who wish to undertake their undergraduate and graduate studies in India have been assured of security, safe stay, better living and learning environment during their studies.
The statement was made in Dar es Salaam by the India High Commission to Tanzania, Mr Sandeep Arya, during the launching of two-days education expo with a theme ‘Study in India’, that has a focus to strengthen social interaction between Tanzania and foreign scholars in various professional fields.
He said, Tanzanians need not worry about their stay as the government of India is taking serious measures to ensure foreigners enjoy better living environment while undertaking their activities.“Following the recent incident that happened in Bangalore, there are serious measures that have been taken against those who were involved, among them 4 police officers were suspended and 10 other people were arrested,” he said.
“We still invite people from all parts of the world to undertake their studies in India as there are many colleges and universities with competent instructors and the courses that are being offered are of world class,” added Mr Arya. He said, there is a sufficient number of universities, colleges and allied institutions that offer various courses at all levels.
“All these institutions offers enormous choice to overseas students in terms of disciplines, degree, types of institutions, cost of education, infrastructure and locations ranging from warm sites to some of the coldest in the world,” he said.
For their part, students who attended the event, recommended the organizers as the expo has strengthened their awareness on important issues that are not taught in classrooms.
“This event has highly motivated me to study very hard. I want to become a specialist in Information and Communication Technology ICT,” Explained Emmanuel Ibrahim, who is a student at Makumbusho Secondary School in Dar es Salaam.
The expo has been jointly organized by the High Commission and the Educational Consultants India Limited (EdCIL).
It was attended by students from secondary schools and some other city residents who have a desire to acquire higher education abroad.
