Chemi Cotex, the manufacturers of whitedent toothpaste, has handed over 25 motor vehicles to winners of a three-month campaign in celebration of 25 years of successful business in Tanzania.

The campaign was officially launched in July, this year and it aimed at giving opportunity to thousands of Tanzanians to guess the number of Whitedent packs stuffed in one of the 25 cars driven throughout the country.

25 people managed to win a Suzuki Alto K10 each. Speaking at the handover ceremony in Dar es Salaam yesterday, Chemi Cotex, Chief Operating Officer, Raja Swaminathan, said he was happy to handover the brand new cars as a symbol of sharing 25 years of success with the Tanzania community.

Chemi and Cotex is one of the East Africa's fast moving consumer goods companies.

"Unlike any other competition, the winners today will be receiving a zero mileage car with its registration card, comprehensive insurance, a full tank and all tax expenses completely paid for," he remarked.

The handover of the cars officially kicked off yesterday in Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Mbeya and Mwanza. Among the winners from Dar es Salaam were Emmanuel Sakui, Shamis Shabani, Abdu Feleshi and Ramadhan Khamis.

Winners from Mtwara, Arusha, Dodoma, Iringa and Shinyanga shall receive their cars on November 26, while those from Kigoma, Tabora, Morogoro, Mara and Zanzibar shall receive their cars on November 29.

The competition, which was under strict supervision of the Gaming Board of Tanzania, took three months to pass through all regions in Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.

"The success of Whitedent proves that the manufacturing industry in our country has great potential to not only provide quality products to the Tanzanian customers at an affordable price, but to also export to other markets across the world," added Mr Swaminathan.
