Plane makes emergency landing as man bites other passengers

• Another passenger had to jump in and restrain the man with his hands behind his back.

In bizarre incident of mid-air rampage, a man started biting his fellow passengers without any provocation on a JetBlue flight.
The incident created uproar onboard the plane, which was flying from Los Angeles International Airport to New York-JFK, and had to be diverted to Las Vegas. The man was taken into police custody after the plane landed in Las Vegas.According to reports in CBS Los Angeles, passengers on the flight said that somewhere over Utah the man suddenly began biting his co-passengers whom he apparently knew, and then also started hitting others.

One passenger said that doctors present on the flight tried to help by examining the passenger, but were also attacked. Another passenger who jumped in to help restrain the man said, "I grabbed his hands behind his back and held him there while the flight attendants put the restraints on him. At that point, he started yelling and tried to come towards the flight attendant, behind me. I really had a hell of a time keeping him in place there."

The pilot turned the plane around and landed in Las Vegas, where JetBlue sources said the "customer was escorted off the aircraft. Remaining customers resumed their scheduled flight to New York without further incident".
