Flight turns back after 'unauthorized' passenger discovered!

  • The flight made a detour after four hours.
A flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo turned into an 11-hour haul after it was revealed that an 'unauthorized' passenger was on board, four hours post take off. The All-Nippon Airways (ANA) flight from Los Angeles had to turn around after the airline crew discovered there was a passenger on board who was on the wrong flight. The flight took off from Los Angeles airport at 11:36 am local time on Tuesday, and made a detour after four hours, landing back in LA at 7:33 pm, according to reports in RT.

"During the flight, the cabin crew came to know that one of the passengers boarded the incorrect flight and notified the pilot. As part of security procedure, the pilot in command decided to return to the originating airport, where the passenger was disembarked, ANA was quoted in RT.

An American model Chrissy Teigen who was on board the flight, tweeted about the incident and wrote, "Flying first for me: 4 hours into an 11 hour flight and we are turning around because we have a passenger who isn't supposed to be on this plane. Why...why do we all gotta go back, I do not know."

The model further wrote in another tweet, "They keep saying the person had a United ticket. We are on ANA. So basically the boarding pass scanner is just a beedoop machine that makes beedoop noises that register to nowhere."
