- The couple are understood to have separated since Naomi's death.
According to a Mirror report, Kayla Lynton is said to have accessed Facebook and Instagram leading to her daughter Naomi's drowning last July.
Kayla's lawyer, Ofer Bartal, said the mother tried to resuscitate the girl but she and emergency services were unable to revive her. Naomi was taken to a hospital where she died after a week of being in a coma.Kayla married a British recruitment worker Ilan Lynton who confirmed that his wife's mobile had been seized by police. He added that the police are said to be looking at a 10-minute window leading up to Naomi's drowning.
Kayla was arrested for questioning when the incident occurred last July but yet has not been charged. Her lawyer Bartal said,
"Kayla was interrogated on the day it happened but released the same day. She didn't even spend one night in custody. Now she has been questioned one more time."
The mother is now on a 420 euro surety bond and could possibly face charges including neglect of a minor and negligent supervision of a child.
"She's obviously devastated and now she's having to deal with a potential criminal case as well," Bartal added.
"Kayla is currently waiting for a court date. She's on a surety bond which means she must appear in court and at a police station when she's required. Police are looking at whether she was on social media when she should have been caring for her daughter, the Mirror quoted a source as saying.
The woman's husband Ilan Lynton moved from Shoreditch, East London, five years ago where he met his wife. The couple, who also have a two-year-old daughter together, are thought to have separated since their youngest daughter's death.
