A reporter has been fired after climbing and dinging expensive vintage cars at an auto show in California.

According to MSN, the live segment took place at the Sacramento International Auto Show on the show 'Good Day Sacramento'.

The correspondent, Angel Cardenas, was fired after the segment showed him opening the door of a pink 1957 Thunderbird, dinging the door of a similar car parked next to it.

He also poses on the hood of a 2020 Ford Explorer despite acknowledging a sign asking people to keep off the display.

"I feel like a kid in a candy store without the owner because you can do anything," said Cardenas.

The station promptly received negative comments about Cardenas' behavior, and the station has removed the video of the incident from their website. The reporter has been sacked and his bio no longer appears on the show's website.
