On September 17th, ZACADIA is organizing a picnic on the western side of the city of Toronto at Downsview Dells Park (Area #4) and all are invited.
The proceedings from this event will be used to pay for shipping charges for used items and equipment for hospitals in Zanzibar. Zacadia has already sent to Zanzibar about 75 hospital beds and 25 wheelchairs, this year alone.
This will be the last in the series of summer events that Zacadia has been organizing in Toronto.
According to the head of the management team of the association bi Shahida Hamad,... "This is not going to be like our normal picnic events. This time things are going to be different. It will be bigger and better than any of our previous ones!", exclaimed bi Shahida to Zanzibar Ni Kwetu.
In addition, Zacadia intends to promote small scale home-based entrepreneurs to sell their home-made products and artisanal items from Zanzibar. All proceedings will go back to the entrepreneurs. All those interested in selling any product during this event should immediately register their names at the following contact numbers (Note: reservation is limited and operates on a first come, first served basis):
647.453.3856 (bi Shahida),
416.994.6422 (bi Arafat).
“After this event, we have new plans and ideas in store for the coming Winter, so stay tuned!", stated bi Shahida.
When bi Shahida was asked by this blog about these new plans and ideas and what greater things that could be done with Zacadia's limited resources, she added..."We will not reveal these ideas and plans at this point in time. But, much can be done with limited resources but with unlimited imaginations", finished bi Shahida.
Zacadia (Zanzibar-Canadian Diaspora Association) is a non-governmental organization based in the city of Toronto. Zacadia acts as a link between the people of Zanzibar-origin living in Canada and their motherland - Zanzibar.
