Top Kenyan government and security officials had been warned, including by Israel, of an elevated risk days before the deadly attack on a packed Nairobi mall, security sources said on Saturday.
Officials speaking to AFP on condition of anonymity confirmed that an intelligence report, leaked in Kenyan newspapers, had been sent to the government earlier this month.
