Dr Mengi to launch key customer care seminar Saturday

BY PROSPER MAKENE

24th October 2013

IPP Chairman, Dr Reginald Mengi
IPP Chairman Dr Reginald Mengi is expected to launch a special training programme designed to improve customer care services in Tanzania’s business ventures on Saturday.

The seminar is made possible by Tanzania Association of Travel Agents (Tasota).
Speaking in an interview in Dar es Salaam yesterday, Tasota Chairman Moustafa Khataw confirmed that Dr Mengi would launch the seminar which is to be led by US customer care expert John Tschohl.

Khataw said that Tschohl will provide customer care credibility and focus on empowerment and how the social media have the ability to emotionally communicate the power of the service strategy from top executives to the total workforce.

“We are supposed to invest on customer care if we need to compete with our neighbouring countries such as Kenya and Rwanda who have invested a lot on service industry. I beg all institutions such as financial institutions, hotels, insurance companies and others to invest on service industry by having good customer care to improve their businesses,” he said.

The customer care professional will focus on how to get people to remove self-imposed limitations, see themselves as they can be, set goals and use visualisations and affirmations to achieve greater success.

“Instead of focusing on their customers they focus on numbers,” says Tschohl, an internationally recognised service strategist, who has been described by Time Magazine and USA Today as a “customer service guru.”

Tschohl has developed more than 20 customer-service training programmes that have been distributed throughout the world.

“To ensure that service becomes a driving force in your organisation, you must develop a plan, much as you would for any other goal, personal or professional, in your life. Just as importantly, you must follow that plan,” Tschohl says.

The expert has featured on major television shows from Good Morning America, CNBC and PBS to USA Today’s cover story, newspapers, radio stations, and magazines from almost every corner of the world.
