The remarks were made yesterday by the Mwanza Acting Regional Commissioner Ndaro Kulwinjira at a hand over ceremony of the 49.5m/-police station. He pointed out that the initiative supplements government efforts to secure peace and security in the country.
He called on residents of the surrounding areas to collaborate with the force in fighting crime in the area.
“If you work closely with the Police then you can bring to an end crime in your areas…make sure that you immediately inform the Police of any suspicious behaviour,” he urged them.
Speaking to journalists soon after the inauguration, a Kiseke resident, one Jimmy Kinumbe said that the station will contribute to the reduction of crime in the area. He also said that residents feel much safer and secure with the completion of the new police station.
