In the drive for excellence, the word “impossible” does not exist in the UAE dictionary, the Dubai Forum for Government Practices was told.
Dubai Executive Council Secretary-General Abdulla Al Shaibani addressed the Dubai Forum for Government Practices 2013 on Tuesday.
“This is a precious opportunity for us all to learn and share our best practices and achievements in the Government of Dubai.”
The premier event, held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is aimed at supporting continuous learning and sharing the best administrative and professional practices of development, quality, corporate excellence and government services.
“We are adopting the theme ‘Government with no limit’ this session in line with the vision and directions of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed, who affirmed that ‘The word ‘impossible’ is nowhere to be found in the vocabulary of the UAE’.”
Dr Ahmed Al Nuseirat, Coordinator-General – DGEP, told Khaleej Times that the forum, seeing 21 Dubai government departments and participants from local and federal bodies, is organising the first-ever exhibition in its six-year history for government excellent practices, services, and initiatives.
“This is a unique chance for local participants and exhibitors amounting to over 850 to share and benefit from each other’s experience, apart from interactive sessions and films on positive
energy, which is a new concept
in government work, simply spanning creative thinking, firm
will, constancy, persistence, ambition, and taking initiative to go
beyond expectation based on certain skills.”
Hazza Khalfan, Senior Manager of Excellence Initiatives – DGEP, said the two-day forum had invited local and international experts to explain the aspects of positive energy.
“We learn how it creates an excellent corporate environment, enhances productivity, and improves performance and creativity.”
Mona Al Bahr, Member of the Federal National Council, said that challenges and difficulties are indispensable for any work to grow and improve, and without which there shall be no real life.
“Such challenges do help us spot and learn from our disadvantages, and be properly aware of our skills and abilities.
“The main core in positive energy is based on how we mull over, deal with, and overcome such difficulties.”

Latifa Ahli, Team leader at the Dubai Airports’ IT Department, told Khaleej Times that Dubai Airports passengers may now identify the right directions, both in Arabic and English, without asking by just clicking a ‘way find’ application which directs them to the exact place they want and the time needed to reach.
