Sultanate celebrates
43rd National Day today — MUSCAT — His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, Supreme
Commander of the Armed Forces, will preside over the military parade, which
will be held today on the military parade ground at the Royal Guard of Oman
(RGO) Command on the occasion of the Sultanate’s 43rd National Day. Symbolic
units and music bands representing the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), RGO, Royal
Oman Police (ROP) and Royal Court Affairs (RCA) will take part in the military
parade. His Majesty the Sultan will be accompanied during the parade by Royal
Family members, ministers, senior civil and military officials. As part of the
celebrations, the wilayats in various governorates yesterday started organising
marches of loyalty and gratitude to His Majesty the Sultan. Citizens in the
Wilayats of Al Hamra, Khasab and Thamrait yesterday organised marches of
loyalty and gratitude for His Majesty the Sultan with participation of shaikhs,
dignitaries, citizens and schools’ students. Horse riders also took part in the
march as they chanted traditional folklore songs that express the loyalty to
the builder of modern Oman, His Majesty the Sultan. — ONA
