UAE's demand for electricity to reach 40,000 MW by 2020

The demand for electricity in the UAE will exceed to 40,000 MW by 2020 says Minister of Energy 

Suhail bin Mohamed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, said that the demand for power in the UAE will exceed to 40,000 megawatts by 2020 at a growing rate of 9 percent annually, pointing out that the rate average is three times of the international energy demand average.
He made his remarks today on the occasion of the opening of the New Nuclear International Conference (NNIC), which is hosted by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal from November 11 to 14.

The conference will bring together nuclear energy leaders from more than 40 countries to discuss the opportunities for new and developing nuclear energy programmes around the world, exploring all aspects of the nuclear energy lifecycle.
