Unstable weather to continue for next 48 hours
MUSCAT — Moderate to heavy showers battered some part of the Sultanate yesterday and lasted for several hours.
The Wilayat of Al Awabi experienced light to moderate rains accompanied by lightning and thunders.
Rains fell on the centre of the wilayat and several villages and caused the overflow of Wadi al Lasami and Gali Sub east of the wilayat.

The Wilayat of Shinas experienced moderate to heavy rains early yesterday morning. Almost all the coastal and mountainous areas experienced rains that caused several wadis to overflow.
Heavy rains battered the northern and southern parts of the wilayat and lasted up until nightfall.
Light to moderate rains fell on the mountainous villages of the Wilayat of Daba for over six hours and led to the overflow of Wadi Al Khab.

The Wilayat of Dima W’attayeen experienced heavy rains that lashed many villages of Mahlaj, Al Gubaira, Al Alyaa, Al Rasaily, Gaiyadha, Handrout following which rainwater submerged several waids.

Heavy rains accompanied lashed the Wilayat of Liwa for the second day yesterday afternoon. Rains were mainly concentrated in coastal areas and led to waterlogging in low-lying areas. Rains on top of hills caused many wadis to overflow.
However, rains and thunder showers will subside by tomorrow or the day after (November 17 or 18) and only partly to fully cloudy skies will be present in most of the governorates, according to the Directorate General of Weather and Air Navigation (DGMAN) office.

Partly cloudy skies with chance of isolated rain and occasional thundershowers are expected to continue over governorates of Musandam, Buraimi, North and South Al Batinah, Muscat, Al Hajar mountains and adjoining areas associated with hail and fresh winds.
Along the Al Wusta and Northern Dhofar, chances of early morning and low level clouds and fog patches are predicted according to a statement from the DGMAN.
