Haji Omar Kheri, Zanzibar's Minister of State for Local Administration and Special Departments said that TRA aims to collect more than 147.9bn in 2013/2014 fiscal year in cooperation with private sectors.
Kheri made the remarks during an occasion marking Taxpayers' Day in Zanzibar.
Private sectors have contributed a lot in revenue collection, enabling the government to improve health, education, water and other important infrastructures, he said.
"The government intends to maintain sound system of revenue expenditure in the ministries, institutions and other organizations to ensure all the funds collected from taxpayers are used for public services," he stressed.
"I urge the public and private sectors to cooperate fully in fighting against corruption which is the great enemy for boosting economic growth," he said.
