MUSCAT — Mohsen bin
Mohammed al Shaikh, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, signed an agreement
yesterday for constructing and developing of the commercial tourist complex
(Oman Mall) in the Wilayat of Bausher.
The agreement has been signed with the Majid al Futaim Group.
Following the signing, the Chairman of Muscat Municipality announced that the implementation of the project will be in accordance with the government’s plans to encourage and attract foreign investment to implement projects, tourism and economically for citizens, residents and visitors to Muscat city.
He further added that “the project will contribute to the development of the city’s economy and it will also provide about 3,500 jobs for the citizens as soon as the project starts according to the plan submitted by the investor. The implementation of the project will be on an area of around 15,700 sqm and will include 350 commercial outlets of different brands. The project is expected to be completed by the year 2017.
The pact was signed by George Costas, CEO, on behalf of Al Futaim Group.
Oman Mall
is considered as the biggest commercial mall in Oman and will contribute in the
enhancement of shopping and entertainment in Muscat city.The agreement has been signed with the Majid al Futaim Group.
