Singapore companies already buying shares in oil and gas sector

Announcing that several Singaporean companies have already bought shares in the oil and natural gas sectors the Executive Director of Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), Juliet Kairuki, said there are more companies from the Asian country looking to invest in the sector.

She was speaking shortly after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between TIC and IE Singapore Cooperation Enterprises in Dar es Salaam.
The MoU will facilitate exchange of investment and business information between Tanzania and Singapore for the benefit of both countries and was witnessed by three other companies from Singapore.

“They have come to learn more on immigration matters, tax, work permits and land issues for investment,” she went on to say noting that: “TIC is ready to help investors follow country’s laws and regulations.”

Deputy Chairman, IE Singapore Cooperation Enterprises, Seah Moon Ming said their visit signifies their resolve to strengthen ties with Tanzania in the investment and business arenas.

He mentioned areas of interest to be agriculture, ICT and urban planning. Companies present were Pavilion Energy, Temasek Holdings, and Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE).
