Washington Post writer hails UAE leadership

Khaleej Times
HIS Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

(Wam) / 25 December 2013

Although the UAE was established in 1971, it has achieved a huge amount of development in all fields while maintaining its legacy and traditions.

David Ignatius, a writer and political and strategic analyst, who writes for the Washington Postnewspaper, said that the wise leadership of the UAE represents a humanitarian role-model for the world.
In his statement to the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), Ignatius said that although the UAE was established in 1971, it has achieved a huge amount of development in all fields while maintaining its legacy and traditions.
He added that this has led to the nation achieving rapid development in a short period of time, which other major nations failed to achieve in decades.
At the same time, he said, the country has preserved its legacy under the wise vision of its prudent leadership.
Ignatius added that the UAE President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, have the respect and confidence of the whole world.

He said their unique leadership personalities have enabled the UAE to become a model for the world, especially in the field of human rights.
