Zanzibar — PRESIDENT Ali Mohamed Shein has assented to several Bills which had previously been approved by the Zanzibar House of Representatives, the Speaker, Mr Pandu Ameir Kificho, informed the House at the beginning of its session.
Mr Kificho mentioned the bills which were signed into law as the Bill to establish a Zanzibar Youths' Council; amendment to the road law; law on the protection of people living with HIV' and 'copyright in developing seedling.'
Others were the cloves development law (repeal); law of taxation and revenue collection and the 2014/2015 financial approbation Bill.
"All the mentioned bills have been signed into law by the president for implementation," Mr Kificho announced on Wednesday morning after swearing-in the newly appointed Attorney General, Mr Said Hassan Said, who is an ex-official member of the House.
Mr Said Hassan Said took over from Mr Othman Masoud, who was removed from the position by Dr Shein on October 7, this year.
