Amtrak train accident: I've never seen anything so devastating
At least 5 people had been killed, 50 injured in Port Richmond, Philadelphia at a train derailment. This was confirmed by Mayor Michael Nutter. Approximately 270 passengers were on board.

"I've never seen anything so devastating." - Philly Fire Department official on the scene.

Train 188 was traveling from Washington, DC, to New York City on Tuesday night when it crashed.

The front of the train was going into a turn when it shook.

According to witness' account, it appears the train went off the tracks.

NTSB is launching a go-team to investigate tonight’s Amtrak accident near Philadelphia. A team will arrive at site in the morning.

Amtrak canceled all service between New York and Philadelphia for Tuesday evening after derailment.

Amtrak has set up a hotline for family and friends of passengers on the New York City-bound train No. 188 that derailed in Philladelphia tonight: 1-800-523-9101.
