Addressing multitudes at a rally in the Mbezi Luis suburb on the outskirts of Dar es Salaam, he maintained that he is the best candidate to serve as the fifth president of Union.
"I'm the only one who can redeem our people from the poverty cycle,” he said.
"The time for freedom has come, let us use the ballot box to bring change to this nation," he urged wananchi.
Earlier, during a rally at the Bunju A Primary School grounds in Kinondoni District, Lowassa reassured residents there that the party is well organised and will ensure that not a single vote is stolen or lost.
“We are well prepared to win the elections…you should come in big numbers and vote for Chadema as no single vote will be stolen,” he assured them.Lowassa said his government will make sure natural resources benefit every Tanzanian contrary to what he described as ‘now, the national cake is just enjoyed by a few people.’
“I will bring about change and improve the livelihood of ordinary citizens,” he pledged along with a promise to end the chronic Dar es Salaam traffic jam.
In his address to the rally, Former Premier, Frederick Sumaye called upon voters to 'punish' CCM for ‘failing the country’ at the ballot box by coming out to vote in large number.
“Vote for change, vote for Chadema,” he bid the country.
Speaking at the same event, the Chadema contender for Kibamba Parliamentary Seat, John Mnyika said he will address water woes facing the area elected.
"Water remains a serious challenge facing Kibamba and Ubungo residents that is why I am asking people to vote for Chadema...we will end this plight once and for all," he said.
Today, Lowassa's campaign rallies continue in Mahenge, Ulanga District and thereafter Ifakara town in Kilombero District, before speaking to the people of Mikumi township in Kilosa District, Morogoro Region.
