SHAKA HAMDU SHAKA: 'CCM leaders crossing over to Chadema are power mongers'

Former Prime Ministers Frederick Sumaye
Top members of CHAMA Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) who crossed over to Chadema are power mongers and no longer productive in the government.
“Let them go, we want to remain with clean and productive people who are patriotic and ready to work for Tanzanians but not their families,” said Shaka Hamdu Shaka, the Acting Secretary General of the CCM youth wing (UVCCM) .
He was addressing a campaign rally for the CCM Parliamentary candidate for Isimani, William Lukuvi, held at Kihorogota village.

According to Shaka, former Prime Ministers Frederick Sumaye and Edward Lowassa are suspected to be involved in various corruption scandals, and thus do not qualify for the country’s top job.

He claimed that Chadema leaders rushed to accept them in their party and would regret the action in future.
The CCM youth leader said the two veteran politicians had contributed to tarnishing CCM’s image both inside and outside Tanzania. Therefore Shaka urged residents of the constituency to give a resounding ‘YES’ vote to William Lukuvi, currently the Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlement Development.

He said with its election manifesto CCM was likely to bring about development as well as peace and tranquility to the country. He said Chadema’s policy was like a replica of those of Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia, Somalia, South Sudan and Comoro that had failed.

Shaka urged Isimani residents to vote for the CCM presidential candidate, Dr John Magufuli, because of his excellent work record.

He said Dr Magufuli, currently the Works minister, is a respectable and responsible leader who has proved successful in all government ministries where he has worked.

He said for the party to properly implement its election manifesto they should also elect the CCM candidate for the Isimani District Council,   Ponsiano Kalage.

Members of the UVCCM in Iringa Region have embarked on a campaign tour. They are expected to attend rallies in various constituencies before heading to Njombe Region.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has estimated the number of voters in Tanzania to be 24,252,927 million out of a population of 48,522,230 people.
