“I will make Tanga an active region in terms of economy, as it was in 1970s,” Lowassa said.
He made the remarks when addressing election campaign rally held at Korogwe Teachers Training College (TTC) in Korogwe District, Tanga Region.
The Former Premier said in those good days, Tanga was very active as it had a wide-range of industries, which used to employ large number of people including the young.
According to him, Tanga Port is an important cornerstone that needs to be revamped for the wellbeing of people in the north-eastern coastal city of Tanga and its vicinities.
He said that if he will be voted his government will be working in a supersonic speed so as to make the country one of the giants in Africa because of its endowed resources.
Lowassa also asked the police force to do justice in election campaign rallies as all parties are equal before the law governing the land.
He discouraged the trend whereby police use force in areas which doesn’t require them to do so.
The opposition contender asked voters in Tanga to vote for him because he’s determined to transform the nation into a prosperous one.
