12 new road projects to be launched in Dubai

The Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) will spend Dh 7.609 billion on various infrastructure building projects in the Emirate. The approved Infrastructure projects budget is estimated as Dh 3.696 billion, which would be allocated for constructing 55 projects comprising 12 new road projects and 43 projects which are currently underway. 

  • The total expenditure budget approved for RTA in 2016 amounted to Dh7.6 billion comprising an operational budget of Dh3.9 billion.
The Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai, (RTA) will spend Dh7.6 billion on various projects in the emirate. The approved budget for infrastructure development projects is estimated at Dh3.7 billion, which would be allocated for constructing 55 projects comprising 12 new road projects and 43 projects which are currently underway.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, revealed that the total expenditure budget approved for RTA in 2016 amounted to Dh7.6 billion comprising an operational budget of Dh3.9 billion, and an Infrastructure Projects Budget estimated at Dh 3.7 billion. The budget is 14 per cent higher as compared to the allocation last year.

"The aggregate anticipated revenues for this year amounts to Dh7.5 billion, marking a 14 per cent increase over last year's budget," explained Al Tayer.

"Among the key projects to be completed this year are the Dubai Water Canal project, which would be finished by the end of this year; and Union Museum Project (among others)."
