Amidst the blaze of a Dh1m McLaren 650S supercar, its owner went back to the car to retrieve her most important belongings - her shopping bags.
According to the Daily Mail, fire crews rushed to the scene of the fire. By the time the fire was quelled, however, there was little left of the supercar. Eyewitness Becky Gagen first saw the car while travelling with her family. The same report says that they had come across the burning McLaren by accident.
The report quotes Gagen, "We could see black smoke in the distance, and as we turned around the corner there was a blazing McLaren right in front of us. There was a female driver at the side of the road on the phone - I suspect to her partner.
What made us laugh was the fact that she'd got her shopping out of the car and emptied it - making sure that dinner was in the bag was obviously her first priority."
The McLaren 650S was first announced in 2014 as the successor to the McLaren 12C. Up to 25% of its parts are new compared to its predecessor. It shares its carbon-fiber reinforced polymer chassis and 3.8 litre V8 twin turbo engine.
