According to the NDTV, the Chinese had boarded a wrong train. As he got out of it in a rush, his finger clamped between one of the doors. And the train started moving.
A video of the incident captured by an onlooker shows the man's plight. While other commuters try to help him, and stop the train, he is seen running at train's speed. Luckily, the man somehow manages to get his finger out without getting injured.
Netizens watching the video on social media have expressed concern over such incidents. They suggested a mechanism must be put in place to deal with such mishaps.
"The train should have an alert system and it shouldn't move if any of the doors is not fully closed," wrote Da Su on Facebook.
"He's lucky he was able to get his finger out before he suffered serious injury," wrote Aaron Barton.
"Both the train safety system and the passenger should be blamed," pointed out William Chan.
