- Tales of his generosity are well-known.
During the holy month of Ramadan, a couple of weeks ago, he distributed bottles of soft drinks to help the fasting volunteers break their fast and quench their thirst. But this time, he went out of his way to help villagers from a village in England.A news report carried by the BBC this week spoke about about Sheikh Mohammed providing financial assistance to a Cornish village to buy their Methodist chapel.
The residents of Godolphin Cross reportedly emailed the ruler about their difficulty in raising funds for the chapel. Buying the structure and converting it into a chapel would have cost the village £90,000. It is unknown how much funds Sheikh Mohammed contributed but it did definitely help them get closer to their target.
Coincidentally, the ruler's stable in Dubai is named as Godolphin Stables, just like the community in Cornwall.
