CHINA: Airport officials find 200 live cockroaches in couple's baggage!

• It is unknown as to what the staff did with hundreds of living cockroaches.

Customs officials at the Guangdong's Baiyun International Airport in China were shocked to discover 200 live cockroaches in the luggage of an elderly couple. According to BBC, the Beijing Youth Daily reported that while the customs officials were doing the usual scanning of baggage, they noticed something unusual through the x-ray in one of the bags

"On November 25 an elderly couple was carrying a bucket and when it passed through the x-ray we noticed items moving inside. One of our staff cried with shock after she opened their luggage and a roach crawling out of it," a security official said. On inquiring, the couple said they carried the roaches to make a homemade cream used by wife for her skin condition."They were part of an old folk remedy. You mix the roaches in some medicinal cream and put it on your skin," the security guard quoted the couple as saying.

The couple left the roaches with security staff as they were not allowed on the flight.
