Man eats sushi, forced to get hand amputated!

A 71-year-old man had his hand amputated as it started rotting due to a deadly flesh-eating bacteria 12 hours after he ate sushi, reports Metro.UK.

The man from South Korea suffered painful black ulcers across his skin after indulging in the raw seafood.

The unnamed pensioner visited doctors in Jeonju, South Korea, after he started experiencing excruciating pain in his hand for two days. He was diagnosed with an infection called vibriosis caused by the Vibrio vulnificus bacteria. The infection was so severe that medics had to drain the blisters before deciding that his limb could not be saved.

The man's story was published in the New England Journal of Medicine, and stated that the the blister on the palm of his hand grew to 3.5cm by 4.5cm, approximately the size of a golf ball. While others spread across the back of his hand and forearm.
