In a video that has gone viral on social media, a child can be seen running across a street, when a speeding car nearly hits him as the alert driver masterfully steers away the car just in time - missing the child by a few inches.

Due to the rain and slippery roads, the driver couldn't stop the vehicle, and instead had to drift out of the way.

The shocked child slips on the road before he gathers himself and crosses the road.

The concerned motorist can be seen turning around to check on the little boy.

A passerby can be seen approaching the child to comfort him.
