Family goes on holiday in a hotel that hasn't been built!

  • The group was then taken to the hotel next door which was in the process of beinemg dolished.
A couple and their friends, from England, booked a £3,465 trip to Egypt but were shocked to discover their five star hotel never even existed.

Holiday plans were shattered for Mark Mould and his wife Sarah, who were joined on holiday by friend Natalie Barnes and her two children Kyziah and Ty. The group had booked an all-inclusive package to Egypt through a travel company. But their two-week trip turned into a disaster when they learnt their five star Crystal Beach Aqua Park and Hotel never even existed.

The group was then taken to the hotel next door which was in the process of being demolished. Instead of five star service, the group said they were shocked to see broken furniture, dirty floors, walls and ceilings that were half-pulled down and the swimming pools were green and dirty.

Mould added that there were not given enough beds and their rooms had 'ripped sheets, poo-stained floors and bathrooms that flooded if you tried to shower'. On complaining, they were shifted to a third hotel which demanded £8,000 from the group.

Industrial electrician Mould, 33, was quoted as saying in Metro.co.uk, "It was a rollercoaster of disaster, tears and sickness. I think we all felt wholeheartedly that we had been sold an expensive dream and been served a crumbling nightmare."

Adding that their friend Natalie had booked a holiday before with the same travel company, loveholidays, Mould said, "We mutually chose the hotel as it appealed to all of us for access to the beach and the water parks they were advertising. It was the first summer holiday that Natalie had been able to give her children due to work commitments.

The group's third hotel, Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay, released their holding fee of £8,000 and after weeks of complaints, loveholidays refunded £4,942.84. "The entire holiday had us experiencing a mixture of emotions ranging from disbelief and disappointment to anger and panic."
