covid-19: Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 10 million mark!


  • The United States is the worst-hit country with 125,039 deaths from 2,467,837 cases.
The novel coronavirus on Saturday, June 28, crossed a new global milestone of 10 million infections with deaths approaching half-a-million-mark since the outbreak first emerged in China last December, according to a tally from official sources.

Of the total number of cases of coronavirus have been registered in 196 countries and territories, at least 5,415,417 are now considered recovered.

The United States is the worst-hit country with 125,039 deaths from 2,467,837 cases.


At least 670,809 people have been declared recovered, according to data collected by AFP from national authorities and the World Health Organisation.

India's confirmed coronavirus cases crossed half-a-million on Saturday with another record 24-hour jump of 18,552 infections. The Health Ministry also reported 384 new deaths, raising the total to 15,685.

After the US, the hardest-hit countries are Brazil with 55,961 deaths from 1,274,974 cases, Britain with 43,414 deaths from 309,360 cases, Italy with 34,708 deaths from 239,961 cases, and France with 29,778 deaths from 199,343 cases.
